Thank you for purchasing my file. Support is not compulsory for Envato authors, but it is provided out of good will. And support purpose is to help to understand how themes are work and direct customers to right way, It isn't make any customization. So please be patient & respectful and follow this steps how to resolve your issue:

  1. Read the theme documentation, you can get some helpful information from there.
  2. Please make sure you are using our theme with latest version and all plugin disabled then please active one by one then problem persist again post request.
  3. Visit FAQ page of the theme and check answers
  4. Use Forum Search function to find the issue that i resolved before.
  5. Please try to find some of similar issue and solutions in Screen Casts.
  6. If you make sure all of above steps then post request on support forum.

Gent Homepage Shortcode Error, causing blackout! Help:)

    On my homepage I have 3 different recent post shortcodes, kind of stacked I guess you call it.  I have top one set to all categories and the second to one certain category and the third to another individual category.  The 3rd one is the one causing the problem, if I set it to all categories it does fine but when I set it to one specific category it throws up that black screen overlay effect.  Could someone please help me remove that blackness.  I really need to keep my categories separate on these.  I have left my blog with the error so you can see if this gets answered soon www.apronofgrace.com .

    I forgot to mention, its also pushing my sidebar to the bottom.

    Ok, I got the black fixed by editing the some color in the code, but the sidebar is still at the bottom?

    Hi. Thank you for your mention.

    Block style of recent post shortcode gets latest 4 (sidebar) or 7 (fullwidth) posts from your selected categories.
    But your last category doesn't have 4 posts. Now it has only 3 posts. Then blocked shortcode prints incomplete code.

    But I found solution of incomplete block of this shortcode :). Please overwrite attached file to your theme directory. Also archive has directory structure.

    PS: Set back to default your color changes.

    Oh, thank you that worked like a charm, by just adding that 4th post.  My only other question is when I try to select the homepage layout it defaults to the slider being full width.  It won't let me choose this layout, http://apronofgrace.com/wp-content/themes/gent/images/layouts/s8.jpg ?

    and my footer seems abnormal too:), but great theme!!!!

    So, You need to select home page layout with it. And add multiple images on "Themeton featured images" section.
    Then select the header content option with Nothing. (closing full slider)
    It will look slider little bit different. But i think it is okay :-)

    Ok got timages up there. Now is there a way to link the images the corresponding post?  Also my footer seems messed up somehow? Thanks

    - Ohh, really there we need to set link. It needs a little bit code glitching. Please overwrite attached file in your includes folder of your theme. Also you should watch this: http://www.screenr.com/Xybs

    - You should select footer menu on Appearance=>Menu section. If you didn't selected any menu on there, menu function throws list of all the pages. Now it is throwing.

    When I changed out the file this is what threw up on my blog and messed it up, Fatal error: Cannot use string offset as an array in /home/mary/public_html/apronofgrace.com/wp-content/themes/gent/includes/gent.php on line 124.

    So I reset the file back to original until you read this.  You guys are awesome and I really appreciate your time!

    Ok its linking up now, but for some reason and even before I changed the gent.php, when I add other photos to rotate, they don't show up and the tabs shortcode will not work either.  It just puts what I written and the shortcode itself on the home page?  So I don't know if there is a connection between the two or what.
    I am sorry for the trouble, but I am about done with my blog and need to fix these minor issues. Thanks so much!

    How can I make the featured image rotate now.  When I add other photos they do not show, just the first one I added?

    Thank you for doing that.  One more question and I'll quit bothering you  for a while, lol.  Are we able with this theme to pull in the featured images from different categories like my Reviews and Giveaways and my Blogging and Photography sections.  Like at this sites featured section, www.pioneerwoman.com, and also place my own style translucent graphic, title and excerpt of what that photo is about like hers is?
