    Hi Flower Haku,

    Thank you for your reply.

Sorry, but you don’t require access to this WordPress installation to be able to answer my question.

Could you please just indicate if the official Visual Composer is compatible with GridX WP v1.3.7?
And if it’s not compatible, could you release a new version of Grid X WP with the latest version of Visual Composer?

    Thank you.

Correction: Visual Composer 5.4.2 is the latest!

With missing I meant that they are missing from the “gridx-changelog.txt” file that is packed with the Themeforest full download.

PS the website does not crash on Safari iOS (iPhone 4S) when disabling the Visual Composer plugin.

    This could mean:

    • a memory leak in JavaScript code in the GridX theme
    • or a memory leak in Visual Composer code
    • too much memory used by Visual Composer or GridX JavaScript
    • (or something else)

After further ‘reverse-engineering’ the theme code I have tried adding the following attribute to the Visual Composer backend code:

    open=”open-gi”

    So the GridX element becomes:

    [gridx layout=”even” style=”tpl-item-style5″ ratio=”16×9″ column=”6″ extra_class=”portfolio” open=”open-gi” loop=”size:12|order_by:date|order:DESC|post_type:portfolio”]

This finally seems to make Google Images style grid work.

It is not possible to do this in the Visual Composer editor yet, because currently the dropdown menu “Open type” now only has the following options: “Push state”, “Modal”, “Permalink”.
Please add the option for “Open GI” to this dropdown menu in the next version of the GridX theme.

OK, so I’ve researched the JavaScript error myself.

It seems the click on a grid item is causing an infinite loop in function GX.Views.GridView.onPermalink() (in ‘js/grid.js’ on line 561).

Also, if it is working, the div with class “expanded” or “open-state viewport-single-post” are both not using full width of the page (or row).

    Billy,

I am sorry, but you have not been of any help so far. You have not fixed my problem.

My client wants Google Images functionality, exactly as I have stated in my first post:

I would like to have the GridX element to be configured like the example page at http://template.themeton.com/gridx/grid.html?grid=style&style=3&open=open-gi (Google Images style opening of grid posts). Unfortunately using this grid style throws an error in my console: “RangeError: Maximum call stack size exceeded” (jquery.js)

You have added a slider to the top of the page – which I have not requested.
You have added a contact form – which I have not requested.
You have added BuddyPress and extra plugins – which I have not requested.

The Google Images functionality displayed on your demo site was the reason I have paid for the Grid X theme, but it does not appear to be working on my site, and you have not seemed able to fix this after three attempts.

I have done all I could to help: provide you with WordPress access, FTP access, give you the exact error message and description of my problem.

After all of this I do not feel confident that you will fix my problem in the future.

I hope you understand that this is really causing me a lot of extra time without any solution to my actual problem.

    Hi Billy,

I have noticed that PHP was hitting its post_max_size (was set to 8 MB) when uploading the theme from within WordPress. I have now increased post_max_size to 20 MB, which should be enough to upload the Grid X theme using the WordPress theme upload function.

I have also seen successful FTP connections from your IP-address.

The default installation of the Grid X theme (from ThemeForest) shows the exact same error when clicking on a GridX element: “RangeError: Maximum call stack size exceeded”

Could you indicate which error you are seeing when making the FTP connection?
I have tested the details above, and they should work.
Please make sure to use the hostname without HTTP:// (which was automatically added by this forum)!

    Regarding the PHP version:
Could you indicate which PHP functions or functionality you need and that you are missing exactly?

    Hi Billy,

Could you please indicate what you have changed afterwards, so I can perform the fix myself next time, if necessary?

    Thank you.

I found that for some strange reason the gridx.css file is not loaded (anymore) on the ‘Home’ page that is currently set as frontpage. It is loading fine when previewing with Appearance > Customize.
You have indicated that you have made some changes. Which ones exactly? Because I would gladly have my proper layout back. I’m sorry for using a moody tone, but I have paid for this theme with included support and am still hoping to get any.

The lack of loading this CSS file is causing a messed up layout and missing styles.
My customer is also looking at this and waiting for a solution.

    Still awaiting your response.

I have no clue what happened, but now everything looks messed up.

Couple of hours ago everything looked fine. I also noticed a WPide plugin was added.
All my child theme customizations are not working anymore…

    Please assist.
